Le 30 avril 2024, des étudiant.e.s de l’Université d’Ottawa ont installé un campement sur la pelouse de Tabaret et ont fait plusieurs demandes à l’Université d’Ottawa, incluant une demande de divulgation des investissements de l’Université et un désinvestissement de toutes entreprises “…impliquées directement ou indirectement dans la surveillance, l’occupation et le meurtre des Palestiniens aussi bien à Gaza qu’en Cisjordanie.”

On April 30th, 2024, uOttawa students set up an encampment on Tabaret lawn and formulated several demands to the University of Ottawa, including calls for disclosure of the University’s investment holdings and divestment from any corporations “…involved directly or indirectly in the surveillance, occupation and murder of Palestinians in both Gaza and the West Bank”.
Antiracist History uOttawa supports the students’ right to protest peacefully, and the rights of members of the uOttawa university community, including students, to academic freedom and freedom of speech.
Antiracist History uOttawa supports the students’ encampment at the University of Ottawa and their demands. It urges the administration to respect the encampment as a legitimate and peaceful form of protest and to engage in negotiations with the students in good faith and with transparency.
Antiracist History uOttawa unequivocally condemns and stands against all acts and expression of anti-Palestinian racism, anti-Arab racism, Islamophobia AND antisemitism and against ALL forms and expression of racism and discrimination.
